A Comeback Story:
A Worthwhile Visit to a Qadiani Valley
[Shamsuddin, an ex-Qadiani brother, is the nephew of (son of suckling brother) Mirza Masrur, the current leader of Qadianis. An incident that happened with him in Azad Kashmir is the theme of this article.]
On the 14th Rabiul Awal, 1426 Hijri, Muhammad Maqsood Sahib invited me to Kashmir to attend a conference on Khatme Nabuwat. When I reached Kashmir, the local people welcomed me warmly and provided me a remarkable hospitality. I felt as if I was at home. During my stay, I inquired about various tasks organized by Tahafffuj Khatme Nabuwat movement. It was brought to my attention that there was a disagreement between Qadiani leaders and the general Qadiani community in a place in Azad Kashmir. I requested assistance to visit that location and have a meeting with those Qadianis.
They replied, it is a long way. It takes at least 4-5 hours to travel from Jarahi by bus. Moreover, you have to climb to the top of the mountain. Yet, Maqsud Sahib arranged a journey for me to go there.
After reaching there, I met approximately 60 Qadianis. They were happy to meet me. I asked them about the issue causing discord among them.
They said, we considered Mirza Golam Ahmad as promised Masih and Imam Mahdi. Our forefathers also taught us like this. But three weeks ago, we were listening to Mirza Masrur's khutbah on Friday. He said, Mirza Golam Ahmad sahib called himself a prophet. The local Qadiani leaders supported Mirza Masrur. We disagreed with them and said, we don't accept Golam Ahmad as a prophet.
Then I described them that Mirza Golam Ahmad Qadiani claimed not only to be a prophet, but also to be Muhammad (peace be upon him). Moreover, (Na’udhubillah) He also claimed, 'my being is exactly His (Muhammad's) being.' -Kalimatul Fasl by Mirza's son Bashir Ahmad, page: 14
Hearing these, they started reciting Istighfar. They started abusing Golam Ahmed as a fraud and extreme liar. Then I presented to them some of Mirza Qadiyani's contradictory statements regarding the claim of Prophethood. Here I mentioned some of his quotes for the readers.
Some of his quotes denying prophethood:
- "The Holy Qur'an didn't permit the arrival of any Messenger after Khatamun Nabiyeen the last prophet, whether it is the new Prophet or the old one." -Ezalatul Awham, Ruhani Khazain (The Complete Works of Mirza Qadiyani) V. 3, p. 511
- "In the hadith, 'there is no prophet after me.' Here 'no' is in the sense of comprehensiveness. It means, no prophet of any kind." -Aiyyamus Sulh, Ruhani Khazain, V. 14, p. 393
- I do not claim prophethood... I consider him a kafir, a disbeliever who claims prophethood or messengership after the last prophet of our leader, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa, may Allah bless him and grant him peace."-Majmu'aye Ishtiharat (Mirza Qadiani's pamphlet) V. 1, p. 214 (New Edition)
Looking at these statements, it seems that he himself did not claim prophethood; rather he denied it. In fact, these are statements Mirza Qadiani made before he claimed prophethood. He claimed prophethood in 1901.
Some of his quotes claiming prophethood:
- My claim is that I'm a prophet and a messenger. -Malfuzat, V. 5, p. 447 (New Edition)
- The true God is He Who sent his Messenger to Qadian."-Dafiul Bala, Rouhani Khazayen, V. 18, p.231
- Jus as the messenger was sent to Pharaoh, in the same words, it was revealed to me that you are a messenger."- Malfuzat, V. 5, p. 17 (New Edition)
Comparison between both of his statements:
Mirza Golam Ahmad Qadiani cursed the people who claimed Prophethood, but later he claimed Prophethood himself. He wrote, anyone who contradicts themselves in their statements is like a fool. - Haqiqatul wahi, Rouhani Khazayen, V. 22, p. 191
Mirza Qadiyani also wrote "Contradictory words can't come out from one heart. If someone utters contradictory words, he is either crazy or a hypocrite." - Rouhani Khazayen, V. 10, p. 143
When the Qadiani people saw all of these statements in Mirza Qadiani's books, they concluded that Mirza Saheb had cursed himself by claiming prophethood!
In the end, they repented and embraced Islam instantly. They promised to lead their families and children on the right path and teach them correct ethics. They requested me to build a masjid. A few days later, some members of Khatme Nabuot Movement from 'Jarahi' went there and built a masjid. They named it 'Khatamun Nabiyin Masjid'. At their request, I had the honor of laying the foundation stone of the masjid.
