Will not the Qurbani Be Acceptable If the Meat is not Divided into Three Shares!
It is better to distribute the meat of the Qurbani animal into three shares: one for relatives, neighbors, and friends; one for the poor; and the third one for oneself.
This distribution is considered mustahab (recommended), not wajib (mandatory). However, many people mistakenly believe that it is necessary to divide the meat of the Qurbani animal into three equal shares, and that even a slight error in this distribution would invalidate the Qurbani. Such an idea is not correct.
