How Near Jannah is!

Mawlana Muhammad Tawheedul Islam Tayeib

It is very easy to understand the need for air, water, and parts of our bodies. If you look a little deeper, you will understand what is more necessary than these things in our life. What people need most in this life and the life after death is the mercy and pleasure of Allah Ta'ala, salvation from Hell, and the good fortune of entering into Paradise.

The Qur'an and Hadith have stated in various ways that Allah, the Almighty, is most merciful and most gracious. He wants the welfare of His servants. He calls His servants towards welfare and success. He called them to Paradise. He called to salvation from Hell.

The main way to go to Paradise is to live according to the ways and methods shown by the Prophet ﷺ. That is the life of faith and good deeds, about which it is mentioned in the Quran-

Those who believe and do good deeds are the people of Paradise. They will always be there. - Surah Baqarah (2): 82

The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam has given some simple and short actions, through which people can easily go to Paradise and progress on the path of Paradise very quickly. A few excerpts from those actions are mentioned below.

1. Recitation of Ayatul Kursi

Abu Umama R. narrates: The Holy Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) says:

A person who recites Ayatul Kursi after every obligatory prayer, there will be no obstacle on his way to Paradise except death. (Meaning he will go to Paradise upon death.) -Sunan al-Kubra, Nasa'i, Hadith 9848; Almu'jamul Awsat, Tabarani, Hadith 7532

2. Reciting Sayyidul Istighfar

Shaddad Ibn Aws R. narrated, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, Sayyidul Istighfar is this:

Whoever recites it during the day will be an inhabitant of Paradise if he dies before evening. And whoever recites it at night, if he dies before morning, he will be an inhabitant of Paradise. - Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 6306

3. Two rakats of prayer after wadu

4. Kalima shahadah after wadu

'Uqba Ibn 'Amir R. narrates, one evening I went to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and saw him standing and giving advice to the people. I heard him saying, if a Muslim performs ablution well, and then prays two rakats with concentration, Jannah becomes obligatory for him.

He (Uqba Ibn Amir R.)  said, I heard the words of the Messenger of Allah, (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and said, Oh, what a wonderful thing!

At that time, a person in front of me said, what he said a little while ago is even better than this.

I noticed that the person in front of me was Umar. He (Umar r.) said to me, it seems that you have just arrived! A little while ago, the Messenger of Allah, May Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, If one of you performs ablution well, then says:

Then the eight gates of Paradise will be opened for him. Then he can enter paradise through any door he wants. - Sahih Muslim, Hadith 234

It should be noted that the hadith is also mentioned in detail in Sunan Abi Dawud. There are-

If any of you performs ablution well, then say:

Then the eight gates of Paradise will be opened for him. He can enter paradise through any door he wants. -Sunan Abu Dawud, Hadith 170

5. Answering the Adhan

Umar Ibnul Khattab narrated that the Messenger of Allah, (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:

When the mu'adhdhin says-

And any of you shall reply,

Then when the mu'adhdhin says-

One replies:

And when the mu'adhdhin says-

He replies:

and when the mu'adhdhin says-

He replies:

When the mu'adhdhin says-

 He replies-

Then when the mu'adhdhin says,

He replies,

When the mu'adhdhin says-

He says-

If one recites these answers from the heart (with sincerity), he will enter Paradise. -Sahih Muslim, Hadith 385; Sunan Abu Dawud, Hadith 527

6. Five Times Prayer

Ubadah Ibn Samit R. narrated, I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) saying:

Allah Ta'ala has made five daily prayers obligatory on the servants. Whoever performs these prayers properly and does not make any mistakes in them through negligence, Allah has a covenant with him that He will admit him to Paradise. And whoever does not perform these prayers, Allah has no covenant with him. If He wills, He shall punish him. If He wills, He shall admit him in Paradise. -Sunan Abu Dawud, Hadith 1420; Sunan Nasa'i, Hadith 461; Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 1401

7. Special importance to Fajr and 'Asr prayer

Hadrat Abu Musa Ash'ari R. narrated: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:

Whoever performs Fajr and 'Asr prayers will enter Paradise. -Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 574; Sahih Muslim, Hadith 635

8. Three Actions

Abdullah Ibn Salam R. said, during my first meeting with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, I heard him saying:

O people! Spread salam, feed the food, pray when people are asleep (i.e. late night); Then you will enter Paradise safely. -Jamee Tirmidhi, Hadith 2485; Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 1334

9. Al-hajj al-mabrur

Abu Huraira R. narrated: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:

"(The performance of) `Umra is an expiation for the sins committed between it and the previous one. And the reward of al-Hajj al-Mabrur (the one accepted by Allah) is nothing except Paradise." -Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 1773; Sahih Muslim, Hadith 1349

10. Safeguard two things

Sahl Ibn Sa'ad R. narrated from: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

I will take the responsibility of Jannah for the one who guarantees the protection of the tongue and private parts. - Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 6474

11. Three Levels of Paradise in Compensation for Three Deeds

Abu Umama R. narrated, The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

I guarantee a palace on one side of Paradise for the one who forsakes quarrels (with his adversary) even though he is truthful in his claim.  I guarantee a palace in the middle of Paradise for the one who does not tell a lie even when joking, And I guarantee a palace above Paradise for the person who has made his character beautiful. -Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith 4800

12. Women Have Four Jobs

It is narrated from Abu Huraira R. that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

If a woman prays five times a day, fasts in Ramadan, protects her private parts and obeys her husband, she will enter Paradise through any door she wishes. -Sahih Ibn Hibban, Hadith 4163; Musnad Ahmad, Hadith 1661; Almujamul Alwasat, Tabarani, Hadith 4598

13. Patience after Losing Eyesight

Anas Ibn Malik R. said, I heard the Prophet, (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) saying, Allah, the Exalted, said:

When I test my servant with his two beloved things (i.e. taking away the sight of both eyes) and he perseveres, I grant him Paradise in return. -Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 5653

14. Patience after Losing a Loved One

It is narrated from Abu Huraira R. that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, Allah, the Exalted, said:

When I take from this world the dearest person of my believing servant, then he perseveres in the hope of reward, his reward with me is nothing but Paradise. - Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 6424

It should be noted that here the dearest means children, brothers or people whom he loves. (Fathul Bari 11/242)

In this way, some other easy actions to enter into Paradise are described in the Hadith Sharif. We should also give special importance to those deeds and do them with great care along with Fard, Sunnah and Mustahab acts. Surely, these will be very helpful for our development. They will make our way easy to enter into paradise.
